Arggghhh!

Yep, we hear that a lot! There are so many cowboy outfits out there offering you an “instant win,” “guaranteed links,” or “guaranteed top rankings in Google.” We get those sales calls too! If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. We don’t promise any of those things but what we do promise to do is to deliver measurable improvements and results. Search engine optimisation (SEO) is often one of the most important factors in any web-based (and increasingly non-web-based) business and for many of our e-commerce clients their organic position in Google’s search results directly represents their bottom line. Traffic generated from organic search results is also known to convert better than PPC or SEM driven traffic.

Our approach.

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is not something that can be generically rolled out across multiple websites, but rather something that has to be tailored to suit each website’s and business’ needs (and budget). Done properly, SEO should become an almost effortless part of the day-to-day running of your site and not just a one-time boost.

Stage one for us is always ensuring that you have the tools you need to monitor what’s going on with your site – after all, you need some way of measuring the return on your investment!. Good analytics are also vital to us so that we know what currently is and isn’t working on your site and can target our time and energy accordingly. Once we’ve got your website analytics up and running we use our experience in content and analytics analysis, link building, copywriting and development combined with keyword research to adjust your site and ensure that you are getting the best possible rankings. Often some small fixes to the layout of your code, implementing clean URLs or simply tagging images in a search engine friendly way will provide a quick boost whilst blogging and better optimised content will support a longer term growth in rankings.

Keeping ahead of the curve.

One of the biggest problems with SEO (search engine optimisation) is that everyone is now building their websites with SEO in mind and often putting it before the user experience. Building traffic to your site is all well and good, but if it’s not converting then it’s no good. We try to keep ahead of the curve by also enhancing for other search types such as image, blog and video search to try and keep ahead of your competitors and capture any markets that they may be missing.

What really differentiates our SEO services is that we look for ways to provide quality and useful content to the users on your site in ways that other sites are not. If users love your site then the search engines will love it too. We have developed several in-house methods for doing this, including our flag ship product FeedHub (more coming on this in the very near future!).

But I already had Search Engine Optimisation done when my website was built.

Unfortunately search engine optimisation is not a one-time thing – search engines are evolving all the time and so must your site. Search engines look at and re-assess web sites and their pages continuously and positioning in results rarely stays still for long. If you want to stay at the top then your site has to keep evolving, improving and remain the best.

Too important to risk.

We thought it was important to put this in here. The Constant Media are fully aware that rankings in search results makes the difference between hitting or missing business targets and objectives. We will never employ ‘black hat’ SEO techniques to get you a quick win as they will soon result in blocking from listings or decreased search performance – and you should be wary of anyone who promises you super fast results. We are always very careful to ensure our techniques are ‘white hat’ only and will result in a long term gain. We like to help ensure that you  will be able to grow your site’s results and reputation in-house without continuously needing outside help or extra resources.
