What is Web Development?

Web development is “building” or programming software which runs on the internet and is viewed by users through a web-browser. The term “web development” rather than “web design” really refers to the more dynamic nature of the website which has been developed, e.g. a “developed” site is web software which has customer interactive elements, databases and forms (think eBay) rather than a “static” website which only displays images and data. Almost all medium and large companies now have web-developers as the internet, internet marketing and web business represent an enormous part of their revenues.
